... in between tournament matches to restock would be greaaaat. 30-60 secs if someone opts to open their bank would be plenty of time to get gear without troubling anyone too much.

  CTF addition

Just wondering who would be ok with paralyze and teleport in certain CTF that Jack deemed ok.

I see the benefits of paralyze on the same page as Wall of stone. You need dispel field to get through a wall, you would need trapped pouches to get out of paralyze and or get hit.

Question Champ Spawns vs Town Invasions

With the Halloween event some work was done that could possibly be reused as a mechanic to launch champ spawns, collectible skulls which you need a set number of to launch a champ. The champ spawns themselves would be located around the world like you would find on other shards which use the champion spawn system.

However with the town invasion system we use, it may not be necessary to even have champ spawns. If town invasions remain a regular, non player launched occasion, there may not be any need to include the champ spawns themselves, and instead just allow players to launch the harrower.

The benefit of the town invasion system
1) They're controlled and can be launched at set times so everyone can get involved.
2) They're publicly announced so all players know they are currently occurring, players can not "horde" the invasions for themselves. 
3) Events which everyone is welcome to join it a positive thing for the community.
Cons of TIs
1) The town is unusable for normal means while the invasion is running.
2) New players starting in that town will probably die (can be fixed by disallowing character start in an invaded city).

Benefits of champs
1) Players can launch champs whenever they wish, so long as they meet the requirements
Cons of champs
1) Players feel entitlement to the champs they launch and may not welcome help from players outside their guild or friends.
2) Ability to launch champs whenever can cause an even bigger glut of platinum, which has already been devalued a lot in the last 6 months through various new systems (achievements, town invasions, increased rewards).
3) Ability to launch whenever can make otherwise normal dungeons unfarmable.

At this stage I'm thinking that champs may not be a necessary addition to UOLL. People have largely enjoyed the town invasions and worked together to finish the invasions in harmony. They serve the same purpose as champs.

Instead, I propose that a way to spawn the harrower is added and champion spawns are left off the shard.

  Explanation of Magic Items or what is "Keepable"

Okay, yeah newb question.

I never used to keep items like magic armor etc, so curious which items are actually sellable/usable.

I know the obvious, reflect/invis jewelry, ID wands. But what about when it comes to magic armor and clothes? Any help appreciated.

Halloween
Halloween content is in!

  • Britain and Vesper have been decked out for Halloween. The summoner in Vesper has function, this is for players to figure out.
  • New creatures can be found on the bestiary relating to Halloween. Some creatures will exist that are not found here, but players will have to find out how to meet these.
  • Creatures can be found around various parts of the mainland and some dungeons. Creatures are on a long respawn timer so you will have to move around and look. Spawn may currently be a bit light, we will be working to add some more spawns throughout the event.
  • Carrying a shovel may be handy.
  • Special holiday themed treasure maps can be found.
  • If you find a "skull of summoning" - hording these items is pointless as they are not rare, they are just the same look as a player skull. They may have another function, however...
  • A halloween vendor is placed at the bank which you can spend your coins on.
  • There will be no "handout" rewards on Halloween, instead you'll have to play to get them.
  • Halloween content will run for about a week.
Other
  • Fixed some line of sight issues with using a key ring when unlocking/relocking house doors.
  • Arrows in free use events, are now free use.
  • Pet follow speed has been slowed slightly.
  • Pets will never retain follow speed while in combat anymore.
  • The housing area around Despise pass has more relaxed rules.
  • You can no longer cast a blade spirit into a house you are not already standing in.
  • Fixed a bug with lightning sometimes not playing the animation. This still needs doing for chain lightning.
  • Fixed some issues with monster hit points, you may find some monsters are a bit easier to kill now.
  • Clothing and jewelry now drops less often, spell reflect and invis is now more uncommon.
  • Healers now sell various items.
  • The "Visit Dungeons" achievement should once again work correctly.
  • Neira can now be provoked.
  • Fixed an issue which was causing the IRC bot to crash the shard.
  • I'm going to bed.
