[Platinum Reward System] How it works.
Posted by: Jack - 11-20-2014, 11:35 AM - Forum: Guides - Replies (5)

Buying Platinum Items
Platinum is obtainable in a few ways and we will look to expand ways in which players can collect platinum in the future. Currently, you can obtain platinum through monster drops, treasure chests (dungeon, map and fishing) and through escorts. It may occasionally be an option to obtain this from holiday tickets, and in the future from automated events.

A platinum vendor is currently located in one of the guard towers outside Lord British's castle, until he finds a permanent home. To buy from the platinum vendor, simply walk up to him and double click him. He will show you a list of his wares. If you have enough platinum to buy the item, simply click on the arrow next to the item to buy it. In the future this will include a confirmation of purchase gump with some additional info about the item (eg, whether it is blessed, how it is used, etc). For now, you may ask other players or GMs for information about these.

Monthly Platinum
By staying active, you will earn monthly platinum. For every 50 hours your character is logged in, you will earn 1 platinum per account that is logged in. This goes up to a maximum of 10 platinum, per account, per month.

To view your monthly platinum reward status, you can type [platinum in game to bring up the platinum menu.

Reward Categories

  • Clothing

    1. Special dye tub. Like a normal dye tub, with a different colour palette. Has limited charges (1 or 10).
    2. REMOVED - Clothing Repair Kit. All clothing now has durability of between 20-30 hit points. If you do not wish for your clothing to break, you must purchase the clothing repair kit to repair it. One time use only. You do not need skill in tailoring to use this.
    3. REMOVED - Powder of fortification. This can be used on an item of clothing to increase its max durability by 20. The item will also be repaired by an amount of hit points equal to that of how much it's max durability was increased (20). An item can have a max of 255 hit points. Upon using powder of fortification, the max hit points of the item will be revealed. If you try use the powder of fortification on an item that already has 255 hit points, it will fail and you will not lose the powder.
    4. Clothing Bless Deed
    5. Black Dye Tub
    6. Mask Dye (1 charge) - Dye a mask a hue from the special dye tub palette.
    7. Ore Colored Dye Deed, Sandals or Mask - As above, with the 8 different hues that ores have.
  • Armor

    1. Daemon bone. This is obtainable normally on UO Lost Lands, however is a very uncommon drop. If you are stuck for a piece, you can save yourself the hassle by buying it here for 50 platinum.
    2. Ranger Armor. This is blessed.
  • Character

    1. Hair Restyle Deed - choose a new hairstyle.
    2. Beard Restyle Cream - choose a new beard style.
    3. Name Change Deed - change your name.
    4. Special Hair Dye - dye your hair an outlandish color.
    5. Special Hair Dye - dye your beard an outlandish color.
  • Decoration

    1. Furniture Dye Tubs (1 or 10 charges)
    2. Potted Plants - Choose plant or cactus. Get a random plant or cactus.
    3. Carpet pieces - choose a red or blue carpet, select what style you'd like. Carpet pieces can be assembled to make a carpet of the size you'd like (or can afford). Pieces can be flipped if they are facing the wrong direction, by double clicking them.
    4. Bear Rug Deed - facing east or south. Can be redeeded
    5. Mounted Dragon Head Deed, can be redeeded
    6. Hanging Skeleton Deed, can be redeeded
    7. Hearth of Home Fire Deed - a new fireplace for your home, can be redeeded.
  • Statues
    • Self explanatory. Can be turned off or on, so sound will trigger when players are nearby.
  • Your choice of Rare/Unique

[Platinum Reward System] Unique & Rare Items
Posted by: Jack - 11-20-2014, 11:16 AM - Forum: Guides - Replies (8)

Unique Item

A unique item can be whatever the player chooses, as long as the type was able to be found in T2A. It does not have to be an item that was obtainable in T2A, it just needed to have existed. For example, maybe you'd like a particular type of display item such as the swords on the wall as display in blacksmith shops. Maybe you'd like a guard statue, or even your own chaos shrine altar.

A unique item must also be an item nobody else has.

Although some extreme cases may be denied (for example, we're not going to give anyone the Moonglow telescope), most requests will be considered valid. Get creative!

Power of Party: A guild for new players to train with
Posted by: Blaise - 11-19-2014, 07:03 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hello all,

After a bit of doing and some support from the established locals, I've placed a home to call home on Lost Lands. While I may not be playing this shard full time, I will do what I can to help out as I have the time.

I have opted to drop a guild stone for new players to join, for the sake of training and perhaps early-day communications in game. The guild is Power of Party [PoP] and has no requirement. However, if you're found to be abusing guildmates or privileges granted therein, you will be removed. That is all.

To join PoP, just hit me up on IRC (Blaise) whenever I'm around. If I'm in IRC I'm likely capable of launching a client as needed. Buckethead, my bard, is the guildmaster and will be able to friend you to the guild house as well for safety and training.

Good luck and welcome aboard!

Sincerely,

Blaise

  Party/Group mechanics
Posted by: MadTulip - 11-17-2014, 05:55 PM - Forum: New Player Questions - Replies (3)

Hello!

We couldnt get the /add command or the "Party manifest Gump" Button "Add new Member" to work yesterday. Is that not implemented or did we do it wrong? It would be nice to have the party mechanics available for the chat and for the ability to see group members mana reserves so we dont have to communicate "oom" all the time. Smile

Thanks!

  Client crash issue
Posted by: Talia - 11-17-2014, 08:07 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (6)

Since the patch, I'm getting some client crashes when I relieve npcs of their miserable existence. At the point of their death animation, the client will frequently crash to the desktop. It doesn't happen every time, but certainly often enough to be inconvenient.

Upcoming: Platinum Reward List, Platinum Vendor
Posted by: Jack - 11-16-2014, 05:01 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I want to share some exciting news about what we're working on. It's a big work in progress, however most the ground work has been finished and we're down to the long road of data entry for all the necessary items.

With the next patch, we will introduce the "platinum dealer" (prices, and the way it looks issubject to change):

[Image: vendor.PNG]="height:140px; width:253px" />

To buy from Jarrod, simply double click on him to bring up his list of wares. Below are a few of the pages that have been designed:

I hope you're as excited as we are to finally get some platinum rewards on the scene!

  Get out of here, scum!
Posted by: SgtScooter - 11-16-2014, 09:32 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

Every vendor I talk to shouts this at me right before happily buying my goods. Is this perhaps a byproduct of the recent murderer patch or are they all pissed about my breaking into their strong boxes?
