After finding multiple, conflicting information sources for this era of UO, a simple solution occured to me--The Wayback Machine!

The Wayback Machine is a website that stores "snapshots" of entire websites, then archives them for public use.

Using the Wayback Machine I was able to find a copy of the UO Stratics website as it existed in FEB. 1999!!

Just follow the link (you cannot link to internal pages--only the main page--because it is not the actual site but a single page stored at web.archive.org). It is a functional copy so all the links go to information that hasn't been altered with a million updates as the game changed over the years, like the actual uostratics.com site has, but information as it existed in Feb 1999.

This, in effect, makes the Wayback Machine copy of UOStratics the most accurate information resource for this server. The only thing it does not include are deviations that the management of THIS server choose to make different for whatever reason (anything "custom" about this particular server).

After fishing my skill to 80.0, I should have started getting sea-serpents on the occasional failure. From 80.0 skill to 90.0 skill, I did not pull up a single sea-serpent.

I did not pull one up until 90.0 skill (I got a deep sea serpent on the second cast once I hit 90.0). It seems this hard-minimum was either intentionally changed, or is simply incorrect.

EDIT: 93.3 Fishing Skill and I've only pulled up the one Deep Sea Serpent at 90.0 skill. I should have pulled up 20-30 of them by now. Fishing is DEFINATELY BROKEN. Without Sea serpents, fishing is POINTLESS.

According to a snapshot of UOstratics (as well as my own memory), the correct skill level to start getting serpents is 80.0 skill. Otherwise, all aspects of fishing have been accurate(Except NO serpents!).

I've been fishing in deep water(midway between Occlo and Britain) for 5-6 hours, going from 80.0 skill to 87.0 skill and ZERO sea serpents have spawned. As these are the SOLE source of MiBs (message in a bottle), this is dismaying to say the least. The drop rate was NEVER this bad.

As I remember it, they had a chance to spawn once a fisher hit 80 skill, and fished in deep water.

Is the spawn broken, or have things changed?

What the heck is going on?

EDIT: I found a snapshot of UOstratics back in Feb 1999. The Fishing Skill page clearly states the chance for sea-serpents once reaching 80 skill points in fishing. I'm currently 89.7 skill fishing and STILL have not fished up a single sea-serpent. Definately something amiss.
