Poll: Direction of the Shard
#41
We do have an era accurate bounty system for murdering, however there is no such thing for thievery.

In terms of quests, we have escorts, camps and the evil mage tower which spawns daily in T2A, but that is all for now.

I am very anti-slayer. That is a mechanics change that shouldn't be in.

However I feel the LOS bug of the era should be in the game. It isn't a game breaking bug, and would make it so much more easy to teleport, especially in hilly areas.
At a minimum, allow any teleport where the player Z axis is higher than the target destination Z axis (of course distance rules would still apply)

In an era where one can use as many dragons as they can find to farm things I really don't see what harm slayer weapons would do. They'll help warriors compete with tamers and bards. I mean, we've already got silver (which is accurate, I know) but the people farming with warriors are gonna get super bored with liches sooner or later. Just pls no slayers instruments or barding difficulty ever pls! What do you not like about slayer weapons Myrnae?

They are specific to another era.  Want to PvM?  Make a bard or tamer.  Why don't we just enable Chivalry and Focus skills while we're at it?  The line has to be drawn somewhere.  If Jack deviates much more from T2A mechanics, he just needs to change his name to Lost Lands Custom Shard and let it roll.

Agreed!

We do not have accurate LOS code simply because I don't know what the code should be. LOS is something that can be disastrous to break and lead to all kinds of exploits, so I'm worried about changing it without a clear goal of what the end result is.

As it stands there are shards far more custom than UOLL that call themselves T2A. Most people relate PvP, PvM, crafting and the basic mechanics of the era with what type of shard they are playing. There has never been a shard with the goal of perfectly replicating UOR for example, but there are plenty of shards out there that advertise themselves as UOR. It would be unfair to say UOLL can not call itself "T2A" when it is more accurate to the era than nearly every T2A shard that has ever existed.

UOLL no longer aims to be an exact replica of the era, that's true, and the website does need updating to reflect that (even though it does already say, and has said since the beginning, that we include the better parts of customization). The core values of the shard are to create a T2A experience, adding fun things that can keep all types of players interested while exercising common sense on what's overly custom. The goal is to keep our players entertained long enough to stick around, while developing that T2A experience.

Well said man!

To me this server is the way Uo should have been. Instead of trammel, care bear, ect....

This has been a good read to catch up on things with. I was actually wondering if it would be possible to bring in the UOR houses, and was going to bring up that I remember those houses going live before Trammel opened, but it looks like someone already mentioned bringing those in.
