Patch 20 - 02/17/2015 - Double Domination, Tournaments

New Event Schedule, Notes About Events.

The event schedule has been updated and some events have been shifted around. Survival now runs twice a week, once earlier in the day to allow our Euro players to participate. Events targeted at our Euro playerbase are set for 3pm EST and the US playerbase for 9pm.

Work on events is going to come to an end for now to focus on other areas of the game. There are still a few events I want to add later down the road. At this stage UO Lost Lands has the biggest automated event system currently active on any shard with events running daily, and the option to run even more event types given the interest.

The only further work done on events at this stage will be bug fixes.

UO Lost Lands proudly presents our new tournament system.

A lot of work has gone into this and the system is second to none in the UO shard world. A huge thanks to ildjarn who helped massively with the JavaScript, MySQL queries and listened to me rage about PHP.
  • Tournaments can be launched of the following team types: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3+ (no limit, for now we will only automate 1v1).
  • Can be launched with the following options enabled/disabled: Free Consume, Allow Potions, Allow Magical Items, Allow Poisoned Weapons.
  • Free Consume means that resources (such as reagents, potions), are not used up during the fight. Using a potion would result in the user getting the potion effect, but the potion not being used up.
  • There is no player looting during tournaments, nor do murderers take stat loss.
  • Players will not be able to leave the tournament waiting area if they are signed up, until they have been either defeated or the tournament is complete.
  • Tournaments are fully integrated into MyUOLostLands. Currently randomly collected data displays on profiles, which will be wiped before the first tournament runs on Friday.
    • Players who have participated in tournaments have info about their statistics in the tournament type (1v1, 2v2, 3v3) displayed on their MyUOLL profile (example, player has not really participated - displayed is randomly collected data).
    • Tournament leaderboards will display in and out of game, each character can also gain "experience" on the ladder to rank up in PvP (no actual in game rewards for levelling up).
    • All tournaments are tracked, and can be searched for on the tournament search page.
    • Each tournament that happens in game will get its very own Tournament Bracket page, where people can view the tournament tree and see data on players by clicking them in the tree.

Double Domination

Another event type, Double Domination, also makes the cut with this patch.

Other
  • House deeds are now refunded to your pack instead of the bank.
  • Mini heal now heals 11-14 damage at GM magery, down from 11-15.
  • Information about murders is now saved. This means that players who die while disconnected, or log out after dying, will receive a murder gump when they log back in. This persists through server restarts so potentially a murder gump could be held forever. A murder gump will persist until a response is received (yes or no).
  • Annoucements about individual player score in CTF are now correctly calculated and player kills are taken into account.
