PATCH 27 - ACHIEVEMENTS, MOTD UPDATE, VARIOUS

THIS PATCH WILL BE ACTIVE IN A FEW HOURS.

ACHIEVEMENTS
It's with excitement that with this patch we add the beginning of the achievement system. It is the beginning, because web support still need to be added for these achievements, and the list (total 37 achievements) will be expanded upon in the near future.
  • Each achievement has multiple levels and rewards/achievement points per level.

  • Currently the categories are: Skills, PvM, Exploration, Events.

  • Players can view their overall rank for all achievements, or their rank for any individual achievement.

  • Data will be loaded for PvM and skill achievements, so you will get credit for what you have already done. This does not include taming achievements.

  • Achievements for treasure hunting have been included. One such achievement is to complete all 200 treasure map spots. Because of this, treasure maps will now display their location # (eg: "You notice the number 175 scribbled on it").

  • Achievements are account based. Accounts can not be linked due to the possibility of linking accounts that do not actually belong to the same player.

  • Hidden achievements are also supported, however we only currently have one. More to be added.

  • Daily and monthly achievements will be added in the near future.

NEW SHARD PORTAL GUMP - INTEGRATED WITH MOTD
  • The MOTD has now been updated to be a portal page. From this page you will be able to read the latest news, register your email address for account security, find useful links to website pages, view your monthly platinum, set MyUOLL privacy options and achievement configuration, as well as toggle your crafting options (for T2A/UOR style menus).

VARIOUS
  • Bagball is fixed. It's really, really fixed this time.

  • You can now quit and rejoin Survival without receiving an error that your IP is already signed up.

  • You can now macro cartography to Grandmaster without using treasure maps.

  • 9 missing treasure map locations have been added (only 191 spots existed before).

  • T2A styled cartography is no longer target based.

  • Fixed an issue with inscribe claiming you had no spells to inscribe when you actually did.

  • Email registration is now active. It is recommended you use this system to register your email address. This will allow you to change your password in the case that your IP address does not match the original IP you created the account with, as well as help recover your account in the case of lost passwords or hacking.

  • A [vote command has been added, and every 4th save will give a handy reminder asking if you've voted today.

  • You can now set things like making your character public/private on MyUOLL, as well as hide individual things like account age.

  • When a house falls, addons are now deleted instead of turned back into deeds.

  • Town invasion monsters now give platinum instead of trophies.

  • Fixed some internal issues with duplicated items being leaked to the internal map.

  • Added an easter egg with blade spirits.

How do you get platinum from the achievements? Is there a purpose for achievement points yet? Looks awesome!

You claim your platinum on the "Account Stats" page - if you have any platinum to claim, there will be a button there to claim them. I'll be making pages for each achievement which will tell you the rewards and requirements for every achievement level that exists.

There isn't any real purpose for achievement points except to be the top achiever. They will be listed on the website when we get around to making the pages.

I have noticed some bugs with achievements, when you get an achievement you won't appear on the individual achievement leaderboard until the shard restarts, I'm looking into it. Your achievements are being recorded and will display on the leaderboards with the next restart. Consider achievements how they currently are somewhat of an alpha test, there's heaps more to do on them, but getting them live helps a lot with getting them tested.

Ah I found it, the button wasn't there the first few times I opened that window up.

I will reboot the server in roughly 8 hours to apply a few fixes.

  • Achievements will appear in leaderboards as soon as you have any progress in them.
  • Achievement category ranks will display correctly.
  • Achievements leaderboards will be eligible for re-sort every time achievement progress is updated for the achievement, instead of every time it is levelled up.
  • The Visit Dungeons achievement will be fixed.
  • Also fixed a bug with tournaments that I found by chance while testing this out.

The following changes have been made:
  • The total achievements leaderboard is fixed. Achievement points will be re-calculated on shard restart.
  • Fixed a bug with player messages on bulletin boards, where responses did not show up correctly and sometimes inserted a blank row.
  • Fixed a bug where the "Digging Up Britannia" achievement was awarded twice for every tmap completed.
  • Legacy treasure maps which do not exactly map a current tmap location, now display "There is no number written on this treasure map.", instead of "Spot 0". You will have to look up the location on Stratics archive (all legacy tmaps match stratics, still).
Event Fixes
  • Players should no longer ever become "stuck" in Bagball.
  • The spectator area in Bagball is now properly mapped, so players can not teleport inside or cast field spells onto the pitch.
  • It is no longer required to kill every single mob in the final tier of a town invasion, to trigger the boss.
  • A bug with sudden death is fixed.
Maker's Mark
  • Exceptional tools will be labelled as so (eg. "an exceptional smith's hammer") and carry a maker's mark if applicable.
  • Marked items will now carry the Lord/Lady title if the crafter has sufficient fame. The fame is checked at the time of craft, if the player gains or loses the Lord title it will not affect backdated items. All marked items created prior to this patch will receive the Lord title if the crafter has the title at the time of the patch.
Guildstones

Guildstones that are not inside a house will now function differently.
  • The guildstone graveyard is now a physical place in game. This is located in the ruins outside of Papua. If you "lose" your guildstone, it will most likely end up here:
  • When the guildstone is sent to the graveyard, the guildstone teleporter is automatically added to the guildmaster's pack, regardless of who clicked the guildstone.
  • All guildstones that were previously sent to the guildstone graveyard (which was previously, not a real place), will automatically relocate to this area.

Hey Jack

Just wondered bout the achievments, Are the skills on the account displayed has a combinded factor co's a char I have shows he done Taming when in fact he has no taming at all.
Just to add that a char does have GM Taming on the same account.
Is this correct?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Riven,

Yes the achievements are account based. You can set the "display character" for your achievements in the MoTD, but the website will display your total account's achievements for each character.

You can hide your achievements through the MoTD, too.
