Reward for steps to reproduce the pet attacking bug.
#1
In my tests, I have not been able to replicate this issue. Maybe I'm not being imaginative enough. Only information I know:

From reports, it seemed the like bug generally occured when the pet was in follow mode and poisoned. Some owners claimed it occurred on curing. Maybe my suspicions of it being related to poison are incorrect.

There has been a report of it happening without poison/curing, but follow mode. It is very likely this bug relates to follow mode. However the code itself doesn't seem to lend me any hints.

I have seen this happen with an Ostard, and maybe even a summoned daemon. So it doesn't seem related to firebreath changes. More likely the combatant status changes of pets. I have a sneaking suspicion of what is happening but without being able to reproduce the issue, I cannot confirm any changes would fix it.

This is not a very nice bug to have, if anyone can reproduce it to me (even if it takes 5 minutes to trigger!), I will reward them with a bug stomper trophy.

It seems to always involve a second target that has attacked your pet. My deamon was just being attacked by some skeletons, and I was trying to say 'all follow me' to get it away from them. For one it seemed to be getting in a loop where it would decide to follow me and then also decide to go attack the skeleton even though the skeleton was not hitting it. The expected behavior is your pet only changes its current order (follow/stay) if it is aggressed on. This could be double clicked by a player or melee hits.

So the whole time I was spamming 'all follow me' the deamon would take one step towards me and then run back to the skeleton. I had over 60 seconds on speech spam queued, after about 40 seconds of it the deamon decided to stop attacking the skeleton and attack me.

So whatever the bug is caused by it has the 'all follow me' and the 'all follow' with targetable cursor command in common. The situation yesterday where the deamon attacked TaylorSwift was after Jammer attacked my deamon I told it to stay, but it didn't listen, so I said 'all follow' and clicked TaylorSwift. At this point Jammer was off screen so it started following TaylorSwift and about 2 seconds latter attacked him (flagging me criminal).

I'm glad I could contribute to the discussion by having no idea what was going on and attacking the first red thing I saw during the halloween event.

I have been able to replicate this bug while working on Prisoner escorts. When you free the escort, it becomes attackable by the orcs in the area. The moment an orc attacks the prisoner, the escort attacks the escort master. I might drop a small patch soon to fix this issue, as well as an exploit I am aware of.

This bug has been resolved, I will patch it some time this week.
