Patch 44 - 03/09/16 - Harrower, Dynamic Decay - Jack - 03-09-2016

Event Fixes/Additions
  • NPCs that disappear at town invasions will now be replaced with exactly the same NPCs at the end of the invasion. This means that vendors that were high in stock will retain that stock when they return. It also improved the performance at the end of the invasions a hundred fold - you should not notice any lag at the end of an invasion anymore.
  • Improved the regioning code for Cove and Buccaneer's den that is used in town invasions.
  • Fixed an issue with Town Invasions automated events not getting saved when the shard restarted.
  • The harrower can now be spawned. I will add additional details about this.

Stealing
  • You can no longer gain stealing by stealing out of a container that is not attached to a mobile.
  • When stealing from a container that has no "parent mobile", you will succeed 100% of the time as long as your pack can fit the item.
  • Major adjustment to the chance to be caught. You are now much more likely to get away with stealing an item unnoticed. The heavier an item, and the more potential witnesses to the crime, the less likely you are to get away with it.
  • You now always lose karma for stealing.
Fishing
  • The formula for catching a big fish has changed. It is now much more unlikely to catch a very huge or very tiny fish. The limit for a big fish is now a lot higher. It is *possible* to catch a fish over 300 stones even, but it is unlikely one will ever be caught that is much more than 200.
  • Big fish now have the date of the catch appended to them. This will allow fishing tournaments! All pre-patch, undated fish have been given the name "a big old fish". They will retain their weight information.
Dynamic decay and item weight
  • Decay no longer relies on world saves.
  • Decay is now based on weight. A heavier item takes longer to decay. The minimum time for an item to decay is 30 minutes, max time is 18 hours. An item has to be extremely heavy to last that long.
  • Newbied items decay extremely fast, however they will not decay inside a house. This includes body parts, which are newbied.
  • When a house decays, the items within it will no longer be perma undecayable until moved. Any item that drops from a house has a minimum decay time of 2 hours after the house drops.
Misc
  • Gold does not use up weight in any part of the bank box anymore.
  • NPCs no longer spam "farewell" when you ask them to move.
  • Fixed an issue with being able to lockdown/secure the same item multiple times (using up multiple secures/lockdowns in the house).
  • Fixed an issue where a tournament round could be lost multiple times, in some cases causing a shard crash.
  • You can place boats in dungeons again.
  • Ranger armor is now newbied.
  • Crossbow and heavy crossbow are now 10 range (up from 8).
  • Magic items no longer have their properties hidden in a CTF region.
  • Stat mods are now capped at +-11, even if a mob has more than 100 magery.
  • Added undead spawns to all ruins around the world.
  • More healer spawns have been added throughout the world.
  • You can no longer cut up newbied clothing.
  • Your guild tag will no longer show if you are under the effect of incognito or disguise.
