Gm Fishing - Creager - 10-17-2014
Starting out on a new server is/can be a rough experience...I thought to myself what can I do other thankill liches for the next two days to aquire currency for a new house, or macro a mage to gm with little risk of dieing?
With Fishing you can gather fish, magical fish(increases stats), lvl 1 tmaps, and message in a bottle (MIB).
Getting Started:
- Character with 50 fishing or 30(personal preference).
- If you decided to start a character with other stats you are going to need a fishing pole which can be purchasedat the docks from the vendor.
- Purchase a boat from the provisioners shop southwest of the starting zone in Brittania for around 10k gold.
- I highly suggest having a melee character to support your fisherman as the deep sea can be pretty nasty at points in time.
Suggested Character Template:
- Stats-100 Strength 100 Dexterity 25 Intellect
- Archery
- Healing
- Tactics
- Anatomy
- Hiding
- Fishing (obviously)
- Magery- so you can recall around and fish up the SoS's faster.
I would only suggest macroing the above if you are a hardcore fisherman and do not want any support from another character.

What do I do with all that crap?
Posted above is a razor macro written in script formation....
Before we get into copy and pasting this into razor and all that jazz, you are going to need to make sure your C drive has hidden files viewable.
Now copy and paste the macro into notepad and save it exactly like this "Fishing.macro"in Computer>Local C>Users>yourcomputersname>appdata>roaming>razor>macros.
Now you have an awesome macro to gm fishing with!
Pre GM Fishing Loot:
- Fish lots and lots of fish
- Magical fish
- Hats
- A ton of footwear possibly enough to put shoes on every kid in a 3rd world country.
Gm Fishing Loot:
- Mibs
- 1v1 one tmaps
- More fish
- Magical fish
- Not near as much but still footwear
Mib Loot Explained:
Ok so you've gmed fishing and your ready to go hammer on some mibs! My first suggestion if you already have not done so is download the auto switching version of UOAutoMap so you can locate the area that the ship wreck is in.
Mibs have a chance to be a level 1-3 treasure mapchest. Each chest you pull up has a chance of dropping 1-3k gold and magic items such as weapons and armor, yes you can get a force/power/vanquishing weapon from a lvl 1-3 chest. Magic Jewelry/clothing, regeants, and magic wands.
Misc/Im new to the game/how come mibs are not dropping/boats/disclaimer:
- DO NOT RUN THIS MACRO UNATTENDED OR YOU WILL BE BANNED!
- When you are 100 fishing skill you have a chance to fish up a sea serpent that you must kill and loot the MIB off of.
- You must be in deep water in order to gm fishing....14tiles away from land.
- Do not leave your boat keys on your character otherwise if you lose both keys your boat is gone.
- Stand in the middle of your boat while fishing so the mobs cannot melee you/attack you.
- On this server you must have gm fishing in order to fish up the SoS.(will be edited if changed)
Boat Commands:
- "(Direction*)" Move ship in desired direction.
- "Drift left", "Left" Moves ship to the left.
- "Drift right", "Right" Moves ship to the right.
- "Drop anchor", "Raise anchor" Toggles ship movement on or off.
- "Furl sail", "Stop" Stops current ship movement.
- "One (direction*)", "(Direction*) one" Moves ship one tile in desired direction and stops.
- "Set name xxxxx" Changes Ship's name, where "xxxxx"=name. (must have key)
- "Remove Name" unnames the ship. (must have key)
- "Slow (direction*)" Moves ship slowly in desired direction (see below for possible directions).
- "Turn around","Come about" Turns ship around and proceeds.
- "Turn left", "Port" Rotate ship left. Changes the orientation of the ship.
- "Turn right", "Starboard" Rotate ship right. Changes the orientation of the ship.
- "Unfurl sail", "Forward" Moves ship forward.
- Directions: Forward left, forward right, backward left, backward right, back left, back right, backwards, backward, back.

So I've been fishing without a bodyguard, and because my fisherman can't fight yet, I've just been running every time I "accidentally" fish up a sea serpent... *facepalm*
It's so weird to be a half noob. I played the game a lot way back when, so I know most of the mechanics. But man, it's been so long that some key details like this are just gone.

you can gm fishing on land, while macroing up other skills. I wonder if I had first gm fisherman. Hmm that could have been a trophy lol.

I did not try to gm on land cause sources told me otherwise....I don't think your supposed to be able to gm on land? I think its supposed to cap out at like 90....
