Skill usage (cooking and bowcraft) - SgtScooter - 10-10-2014
These seem like stupid questions, but I haven't been able to find answers anywhere.I've been trying to use certain skills, and damned if I can remember how they activate.
For cooking, shouldn't I just be able to double-click the raw meat near a heat source? And for arrow shafts, shouldn't using a bladed item on boards work?
I've checked vendors for tools I don't remember, but I can't find anything.

We currently don't use era accurate cooking
We did on my home PC for a while, but the system was buggy so I took it out before launch so I could do the entire crafting system at a later date.To use the cooking skill, you need a cooking tool, such as a skillet or a flour sifter,

You'll need fletcher tools for bows/arrows, I believe these are sold from tinkers. They can be created with the tinkering skill, also.

Ok, I see my misunderstanding. The tools are sold by the Bowyer and are called "Arrow Fletching." I mistakenly thought that was a component instead of the tools.
