Buying Platinum Items
Platinum is obtainable in a few ways and we will look to expand ways in which players can collect platinum in the future. Currently, you can obtain platinum through monster drops, treasure chests (dungeon, map and fishing) and through escorts. It may occasionally be an option to obtain this from holiday tickets, and in the future from automated events.

A platinum vendor is currently located in one of the guard towers outside Lord British's castle, until he finds a permanent home. To buy from the platinum vendor, simply walk up to him and double click him. He will show you a list of his wares. If you have enough platinum to buy the item, simply click on the arrow next to the item to buy it. In the future this will include a confirmation of purchase gump with some additional info about the item (eg, whether it is blessed, how it is used, etc). For now, you may ask other players or GMs for information about these.

Monthly Platinum
By staying active, you will earn monthly platinum. For every 50 hours your character is logged in, you will earn 1 platinum per account that is logged in. This goes up to a maximum of 10 platinum, per account, per month.

To view your monthly platinum reward status, you can type [platinum in game to bring up the platinum menu.

There is a platinum vendor outside Lord British's castle, you can view all the prices there (just say vendor buy).

This list is actually out of date.
Phoenix armor isn't on the vendor. Is it only obtainable through smithy bod rewards now?
